Frequently Asked Questions
1. How often are practices held?
Practices are typically held twice a week, offering flexibility with both morning and evening options to fit different schedules. We ask that you select one of the options and stick with this schedule for the summer, there will be no make ups allowed. Make up practices will only be held in the case of weather (practices will shift to the next day only).

Swimmers should bring a swimsuit, goggles, towel, and a water bottle.

No prior experience is required. The league is designed for a range of abilities, from beginners to experienced swimmers. We are excited to offer options for 6 years old to 14 year olds.
4. How are swimmers placed in events for meets?
Coaches assign events based on each swimmer’s ability, progress in practice, and creating a balance of challenge and confidence. Meets may vary in events as well to promote growth in the sport
5. How often are swim meets?
Meets are typically held once every 2 weeks, giving swimmers regular opportunities to race and track improvement.

Yes, parent volunteers are essential to running smooth and efficient meets. Roles are simple and training is usually provided, and only require about 6 volunteers each meet.
7. What is the time commitment for the season?
The season is short and manageable, usually lasting 6–8 weeks with 2 practices and 1 meet every other week.
8. What is the goal of the summer swim league?
The focus is on skill development, building confidence, teamwork, and having fun in a supportive team environment.
9. What do parents do while their kid is in the water?
We ask all parents that they observe practices from the bleachers (EmBe) or the sun tanning area (Kuehn Park). Your child learns more effectively when given the space to explore the water and listen to the coaches directions. If you have a concern with your child, please talk with the coach and they will be able to help.
